Equine Therapy
Healthy as a Horse
Equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) is an incredibly powerful treatment modality. It is defined as a form of experiential psychotherapy that includes equines and activities such as handling, grooming, lungeing, and can also include riding, driving, and vaulting. EAP can help enhance self-awareness and re-pattern maladaptive behaviors, feelings and attitudes.
EAP can also be used for people with psycho-social issues and mental health needs such as:
• Anxiety disorders
• Psychotic disorders
• Mood disorders
• Behavioral difficulties
• Other mental illness, such as Schizophrenia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),
Autism, Anxiety, Depression, and
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
• Major life changes such as experiencing a divorce, disability, death or other loss.
